HOW IT WORKS

The cutter is connected to a high-pressure water pump (4000 Bar capacity) where the water is then ejected from the nozzle, cutting through the material by spraying it with the jet of high-speed water, using a garnet (fine abrasive) to aid this process.

THE BENEFITS

AN IMPORTANT BENEFIT of the water jet cutter is the ability to cut material without interfering with the material's inherent structure as there is no "heat-affected zone" or HAZ. Minimizing the effectes of heat allows metals to be cut without harming or changing intrinsic properties.

THE WATERJET CUTTER is capable of machining any 2d shape in 200mm thick material, of almost any kind.

IT IS IMPORTANT for us to keep versatile in any way possible. This water jet machine allows us to plan urgent jobs around our everyday machine shop.

NO HEAT affected zones

MINIMAL waste

USES COMMON cut programming

QUICK SET UP and programming. The machine is very versatile in the sense that jobs can easily be started – and even interrupted so that another more urgent job can be set up and cut on the same table.

MILLED PARTS or tooling plates can be nested in order to second op on the waterjet if necessary

120 MECH GARNET - which aids in achieving an even greater accuracy and finish

CAN CUT virtually any material up to 200mm thick

WITH A BED SIZE OF 4m x 2.25m, the water jet gains a cutting area of 3m x 2m.

GENERAL TOLERANCE is ±0.1 but our machine is capable of much better.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY:

PARTS CAN BE closely nested to maximize material use, and the water jet saves material by creating very little kerf.

WATER JETS USE very little water (approximately 2 litres per minute), and the water that is used can be recycled using a closed-looped system. Waste water usually is clean enough to filter and dispose of down a drain.

THE GARNET ABRASIVE is a non-toxic natural substance that can be recycled for repeated use. Garnet usually can be disposed of in a landfill.

WATER JETS PRODUCE no hazardous waste, reducing waste disposal costs.

THEY CAN CUT off large pieces of reusable scrap material that might have been lost using traditional cutting methods.

WATER JETS ALSO eliminate airborne dust particles, smoke, fumes, and contaminants from cutting materials such as asbestos and fiberglass. This greatly improves the work environment and reduces problems arising from operator exposure.

About Balls Water Jet Cutting

In today's world of high-priced raw material and limited resources, water jet's small kerf, or cut width, and part-on-part nesting capabilities optimizes material use, increasing cost-effectiveness.

Using pure water, it is possible to cut textiles, elastomers, nonwovens, thin plastics, food products and many other products. These materials can be cut at speeds of several hundred feet per minute.
